Blackpool is in many people’s opinion’s the best holiday resort in the whole of the UK.

Their are many attractions and places to visit in Blackpool including the world famous Blackpool Tower, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Zoo, Trams and the beautiful nearby Lake District National Park.

Blackpool Tower

The famous Blackpool Tower was opened to the public on 14th May 1894 at the cost of £41,000. It was inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris and is 158m high. From the public view platform, there are views of Cumbria, North Wales, most of Lancashire and even the Isle of Man. Their are many attraction inside of Blackpool Tower including : Tower Top Ride, Walk Of Faith, Jungle Jims, The Dawn of Time, Aquarium, Ballroom, Tower Circus, Tower Heritage Gallery

Backpool Pleasure Beach

The Pleasure Beach was opened in 1896 and now receives more visitors per year than any other British tourist attraction. Famed for its record breaking “Big One“ roller coaster, the Pleasure Beach  has a fantastic mixture of modern steel roller coasters and old fashioned wooden ones. Their are also fantastic rides for the younger visitors, who have their own section of the park called Beaver Creek. Amanda Thompson, who took over the park from her father Mr. William Geoffrey Thompson, is also the managing director of Stageworks Worldwide Productions who produce some fantastic Vegas style shows at the park that are well worth a visit.

Blackpool Trams

The Blackpool tramway runs from Starr Gate in Blackpool all the ay to Fleetwood and is the only surviving first-generation tramway in the United Kingdom dating back to 1885. It is one of the oldest electric tramways in the world.
